‘Further leave to remain’ is for individuals who would like to extend their stay in the UK. Below are the different types of ‘FLR’.

FLR (FP)
FLR (FP)
Form FLR(FP) must be used if you are applying for an extension of stay in one of the following categories:
- Family life as a partner (10 year route)
- Family life as a parent (5 year and 10 year routes)
- Private life in the UK (10 year route)
You and any dependants applying with you must be in the UK to apply.
FLR (IR)
FLR (IR)
Form FLR(IR) must be used if you are applying for an extension of stay in one of the following categories:
- UK ancestry
- Dependants of a person who has limited leave to enter or remain in the UK other than under the points based system
Other purposes/reasons include serious medical reasons where the treatment is not private. Use this form rather than form HPDL for such an application.
FLR (M)
FLR (M)
Form FLR(M) must be used if you are applying for an extension of stay and your partner is:
- a British citizen in the UK
- present and settled in the UK
